Grade I Listed Apartment

Inner Temple, London

Refurbishment of a Grade I Listed apartment within the magical Inner Temple sanctum. Our brief was to create a wonderfully relaxed home designed to fit modern family life whilst respecting the character and architecture of the 17thC building.

Luxe finishes: travertine, Corian and brushed bronze Amtico flooring.

Refining to a palette of three, making the kitchen feel spacious, inviting and easy to navigate.

Bespoke furniture had to accommodate for wildly sloping floors.

Plums, old golds, silver and grounding black envelop and cocoon.

Panelled shutters, concealed heating, beloved books nestling alongside clear and reflective surfaces keep the space light and open.

An elegant fusion of crisp 21stC. furnishings marrying seamlessly with 17thC. panelling.

"Narrowly surviving the Great Fire in 1666, our task was to bring this Grade I apartment into the 21st Century for harmonious family living. Reworking the flow and function of the rooms and streamlining materials made compact rooms feel open, light- filled and contemporary. With three sets of clients to delight (our family, English Heritage and the Inner Temple) this was a  hugely rewarding project."
